Within each region, you'll find various types of places:
| Place Type | Description | Activities |

Navigation
The world is one continuous hex map. Citizens cross it two ways:
- Their own vehicles - on foot or in an owned vehicle, hop by hop across the terrain, spending energy. See Your Own Vehicles.
- The transit network - bus, train, metro, airport and ferry stations that carry you directly between fixed points. See The Transit Network.
Territory and discovery
The map is more than terrain. Every hex sits inside a power's territory (or in the wilderness between them), and inside a named region waiting to be found:
- Territory - how the map is carved between the Savages, the Fasters, their member races, and the neutral Free City.
- Discovery - the named regions and hidden landmarks you reveal by travelling, and the achievements that reward exploration.
EXPLORATION TIP
The world rewards the curious. Reaching a region or a hidden landmark for the first time is recorded forever - and counted toward your explorer's achievements.
