Glossary

The words below are the ones you meet in the game and across this whitepaper. The same definitions appear when you hover a highlighted term on any page.

Baillaw
A coin fine that ends a prison sentence early. Only some articles allow it, such as the capture of a wanted citizen, and the price rises with repeat offenses.
Civic Codelaw
The law of Wildoria. Every prison sentence is handed down under a named article of the Code, such as M-101, and the verdict arrives in your mailbox.
Coineconomy
Wildoria's currency. You earn it from work, quests and trade, and spend it on tickets, shop goods and the Marketplace. Coin belongs to your account and is shared by all your characters; it is not an inventory item, so it takes no bag space.
Crafter & Servicesprofession
The profession category for paid shift work, such as Delivery Guy and Farmer.
Credit Scoreeconomy
A gauge from 0 to 1000 of how trustworthy you are with borrowed coin. Once lending opens, it decides how much the Bank will lend you and at what rate.
Defensecombat
Reduces incoming damage from attacks. Higher defense means better protection.
Departure Daytravel
The day the train leaves your race's town. Showing your train ticket to your town's conductor in the main story (the quest Ticket in Hand) puts you on your race's departure list. Each race has its own target. Once a race reaches it and the line is cleared to open, its citizens can board.
Energymechanic
The small pool that gathering and other work draw from. It refills over time.
Fastersfaction
One of the Old Camps, the oldest layer of factions. The Fasters hold that speed, technology and adaptability are the keys to the future. No race belongs to a camp today, but citizens still earn standing with it.
Great Guildsfaction
Four factions open to every race: the Trade Concord, the Free Caravan, the Shadow Pact and the Wildoria Council. Every citizen is on their books from the start, and what you do moves your standing with them.
Handyskillsprofession
The profession category for gathering and crafting trades: mining, fishing, farming, woodcutting, herbalism and skinning gather; cooking, tailoring and smithing make goods.
HP (Health)combat
Your character's health. If it reaches zero, you wake up in the nearest hospital with a quarter of your health.
Legendaryitem
The second-highest rarity tier, above Golden and below Unique.
Mailboxmechanic
Where the city writes to you: news of what happened in the night, hospital notes, verdicts and rewards waiting to be claimed. Players can also write letters to each other.
Marketplaceeconomy
The player market, traded in coin. A listing stays up for 7 days and returns to the seller if it does not sell. Each account can keep up to 50 listings active, buyers pay a 2% commission on top of the price, and bound items cannot be listed.
Nodeprofession
A spot in the world where something appears, such as a resident, a rock, a herb patch or a fishing spot. A gathering node costs energy to work, and once your grade reaches its level it no longer teaches XP, though the loot still drops.
Phase Oneworld
The chapter of Wildoria you can play today: a browser game set in your race's town, in closed beta. The mobile game is Phase Two and is in closed testing.
Profession Gradeprofession
Your level in a profession, separate from your character level. A higher grade makes gathering faster and earns new profession titles.
Questmechanic
A task from an NPC that pays experience, coin or items. You can start your first seven main-story quests right away; after that, two new ones open each day.
Race Townworld
Your race's home town. Every new character starts there, and in Phase One it is where you live, work and take quests.
Rarityitem
How rare an item is. There are eight tiers, from Trash (gray) to Unique (pink): Trash, Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Golden, Legendary and Unique.
Reputationfaction
Your standing with each faction, in eight tiers from Hated to Exalted. NPCs treat you according to your standing with the factions they belong to.
Safety Tierworld
How dangerous an area is, from safe to lawless. The riskier the area, the higher the chance that a character left idle outside overnight is robbed.
Savagesfaction
One of the Old Camps, the oldest layer of factions. The Savages hold that civilization made animals weak and that primal instinct is how you survive. No race belongs to a camp today, but citizens still earn standing with it.
Sentencelaw
Time in prison under an article of the Civic Code. A prisoner keeps chat, savings and inventory but cannot travel. Each half-hour prison shift takes five minutes off, so working every shift ends a full-day sentence after about 20 and a half hours.
Shelterworld
A rented room that you stay inside for the night. Night runs from 21:00 to 02:59 game time and is settled at dawn (03:00): a character left idle outside on unsafe ground can be hurt or robbed, and a wanted citizen can be caught. A home of your own does not shelter you; resting there only refills energy faster.
Talentmechanic
A bonus bought with talent points, which you earn by leveling up your character or a profession. Most talents are passive bonuses; a few teach recipes.
The Powersfaction
The seven states that hold ground: six race states and the neutral capital, Wildoria Free City. Your race decides your home power, and a crime is judged by the power whose ground it happened on.
Tickettravel
A seat on the transit network, bought with coin. Every bus, ferry and flight route asks for a ticket. Train routes stay closed until Departure Day.
Town Campaignworld
Convoy to the City: every two weeks each race town fills a convoy of goods for the city. Citizens donate goods in their town, and if the town reaches its goal in time, everyone who helped is paid by their share.
Uniqueitem
The highest rarity tier.
Wantedlaw
A standing warrant with a power, written when you are seen breaking the law on its ground. That power's watch can shadow or capture you, and a capture turns the warrant into a prison sentence. A warrant fades slowly while you stay out of trouble.
Wildoriaworld
The world of the game. Its shared capital is Wildoria Free City, reached by train after Departure Day. In Phase One you live in your race's home town.
Wildoria Bankeconomy
The bank every citizen can use from the first day. Coin in savings earns compound interest, even while you are offline, and coin in the bank cannot be stolen at night. Lending is closed during Phase One.
