Governance

Held, not hired

Every other profession is a job you take. These are offices. They carry no wage and no shift timer, because what they pay is authority: the ability to decide something that other citizens then have to live with.

A city that writes its own laws needs someone to write them, someone to enforce them and someone to answer for them. Wildoria's answer is a set of named offices, each with a seat and a remit.

The city's offices

Most players will never hold one of these. They still touch you constantly: the Judge's bench decides what a theft costs, the Bank Director sets the rate on your loan, and the Night Watch Captain decides how dangerous the road home is. The offices are how the world stays governed by people rather than by constants.

Staff roles

A handful of entries in this family are not in-world offices at all but the positions the team itself holds while building and running the world: Game Master, Community Manager and the mission-writing and editing roles. They are listed in the same table as the offices because the game treats them the same way, and they are named here so nobody mistakes them for something a citizen can be appointed to.

A Game Master's ruling, when one is issued, is handed down under Article M-T99 and says so plainly in the verdict.
