Gold Coins (GLD)

Gold is the lifeblood of trade in Wildoria. Minted by the Old World banks and re-stamped by the current Municipality, it is recognized by all Factions as the standard unit of value.

Properties

  • Standardized: Accepted by all NPCs and Playermade shops.
  • Physical: Gold takes up weight in your inventory. Carrying millions of coins might require a larger .

Earning Gold

There are three primary ways to amass wealth:

  1. Combat: Monsters often swallow shiny objects or carry loot. Selling monster parts is the most consistent income for early adventurers.
  2. Professions: Gathering raw resources (Wood, Ore) or crafting finished goods (Swords, Potions) to sell on the Marketplace. Shift wages scale with your profession grade - base × (1 + level × 0.05) - so a Grade 19 worker takes home nearly double a Grade 1's pay for the same shift. See Working a Shift for the full breakdown.
  3. Bounties: The City Hall posts daily bounties for notable threats.

Gold Sinks (fighting Inflation)

To ensure the value of Gold remains stable, the economy includes natural "sinks":

  • Repairs: Equipment degrades with use and costs gold to repair.
  • Travel: Teleportation networks charge a mana-tax payable in gold.
  • ** Taxes:** Every marketplace transaction incurs a small tax.

Putting Gold to work

Gold doesn't have to sit in your pocket. The Citizen Bank accepts coin in two forms:

  • Savings - deposit coin, earn 0.50% / day compound. No fixed term, no lockup.
  • Loans - borrow coin against your credit score when liquidity is tight.

Both are run out of the same building in Central Plaza, alongside the on-chain WLD vault.
